Hey, Fam. I know my pic above looks like a regular ole beach selfie…
Writing is funny, Fam.
This week, I began my third semester at Pasadena City College (the alma mater of my shero Octavia Butler, by the way) and I’m slowly forging a path towards my goal to earn a Ph.D. in Sociolinguistics at the University of Southern California!
GM, Fam! Not sure what time it is where you are, but here’s it’s 5:30 in the morning. That’s pretty damn early for me, but I can’t sleep, because my mind is still racing from my final edit session with Rachel.
It’s almost noon here in Pasadena and already 2017 is off to a great start. And you all have something to do what that. 🙂
Just delivered the manuscript of each book to my editor, Rachel, and once she takes her red pen to it and gets it back to me, I’m on my way to publishing!
Just had a lunch meeting with Rachel re: our editing plan for rebirthing “Address: House of Corrections” and I am so psyched!
Can ya believe it, Fam?! I finished my first round of edits of “A: HC!”
Happy Thursday, Fam. Just dropping off my weekly update on how my “A:HC” edit is coming. I’m closing in on the final chapters. Only 20 more to go! 🙂
I know progress can sometimes feel like watching paint dry, but I think it’s important to celebrate steps along the journey, not just the finish line.
