See It Loud! I’m Black and I’m Proud!

Fam, I so enjoyed SpringHill‘s new CNN Original Series#SeeItLoud about the History of Black Television.

Watching this celebration of these game changing Black writers and creators – many of whom I’ve now met and am striking with today – allowed me to reflect on the shows that helped shaped me from Black girlhood to Black womanhood and inspired me to become a TV writer.

#SeeItLoud also reminded me of a throwback poem I wrote expressing how I felt about the same issues that it is still examining 30 years later.
