Fam, my heart is saddened right now.
Every day, my prayer is to leave the world better than how I found it.
I’m an independent writer, and an introvert, blessed with the freedom to choose when to leave my bubble.
Most days, I don’t. But when I do, I manifest my prayer with small things…
A smile to someone as I pass them walking by.
A phone call to someone when they cross my mind.
A text. Just because.
Today, I learned we lost a beautiful soul.
Shirley Raines, founder of “Beauty 2 the Streets, has passed away.
Consistently and selflessly, she fed and gave makeovers to the homeless on Skid Row and in Las Vegas.
For years, she served every person with dignity and grace. And one by one, she made their worlds better than how she found them.
Such an inspiration, Ms. Shirley was. Not just a prayer, she was the embodiment of service.
But most importantly, she was a light that taught us how – in our own ways – to see and love each other.
I pray she’s now resting in her well earned peace.
