Welp, Fam, yesterday was Day 100 of our #WGAstrong#writerstrike.
And three months ago, when I made the goal to march at all 10 picket locations (amassing 114,510 steps), I was honestly hoping the strike wouldn’t last long enough for me to reach this milestone.
But because of the studios’ greed, here we are.
And you know what? We’re stronger for it.
I know this, because we walked shoulder to shoulder at CBS Radford yesterday —
Single mothers…
senior scribes…
diverse writers…
SAG, IATSE allies…
PreWGA and others…
All of us anxiously watching our savings dwindle as we hustle side gigs to care for our families, keep roofs over our heads and gratefully eat free meals at Bob’s Big Boy Restaurant (Burbank, California) so much that we now know the menu by heart.
Yes, we’re tired.
Absolutely, we’re angry.
But we’ve come too far to give up now. And we’re not going to stop until we get what we’ve earned and deserve.
